There are differences and similarities between the 1980's and modern time. Some differences is technology. Technology is much more advanced now than it was before. Cell phones exist now and before people use to communicate with beepers. There are many differences between both generations, generation z is much more advanced than generation x. The clothes that people wear has changed their hairstyles, movies and use of technology.
One similarity between Generation X and Generation Z is that of the social networks. According to time.com (http://content.time.com/time/arts/article/0,8599,1731528,00.html) , "Citing Gen-X icons like Quentin Tarantino and Jon Stewart, along with Gen-X triumphs like Google, YouTube, and Amazon, among others, Gordinier argues that not only are Xers far from over, they might be the most unsung and influential generation of all time." Generation X is not much modern as Generation Z. Another difference is that of reading. People use books for reading back in the old days, so they had bookshelves. Nowadays, a new "invention" called "e-books*" are books that are digital. In most books, they are a lot cheaper to get than regular books, because some e-books are free, and most books, or should I say, nearly all books are paid and not free like e-books.
